Aspirations!

Hi Year 6. Welcome to your latest blog!

When I was your age, and before I became a teacher, I desperately wanted to become a nurse. I believe it was because I had visited my Grandad in hopspital and was amazed to see such wonderful, dedicated people caring for him. Obviously, I never did fulfill this dream but maybe one day I will.

I have also thought that when I am old (which I am clearly not now!) I would like to work overseas  giving help to those less fortunate than myself.

I’d love to hear what you hope to do for a career when you leave school. You could tell me about who , or what, has inspired you to want to do this job.

I have always wanted to become a brain surgeon when I am older. I think I have been inspired by my mother, who is a nurse, and have always wanted to carry on her legacy of saving lives.
First I wanted to be a nurse, then a doctor, but I think that a brain surgeon will be my solid aspiration.

What a wonderful aspiration, Farah. Why a Brain Surgeon in particular? I am sure that, if you continue to work as hard as you are doing, you will be able to achieve your aspiration.

I want to become a fashion designer because i like to design clothes but I haven’t moved on to that yet. I’d love to be a manager of designing company. My mum teaches me how to draw and my grandma is going to teach me how to sew and knit.I am even intrested being a model in a fashion show.

I want to become a fashion designer but people think I will be kniting clothes but I want to design clothes not make them. My drawings and what you could do with clothes has inspired me. Even fashion shows inspire me – I think they’re classic. I am pushing myself by drawing my own designs that come from my head. I feel theY’re the designs of the future. I will keep pushing myself and build up my confidence until I achieve my goal !

What a wonderful aspiration, Sara. I know that people can sometimes become confused about what a fashion designer does. I think that’s becauses some designers, like you, translate their inspiring ideas into drawings for others to turn into clothes whereas others both design and make the clothes. Both types of clothes designer are very important to the fashion industry and I am sure that if you continue to work hard and reach for your dreams then you will achieve your goals.

I would just fulfil the dream. You can never be too old to do anything because, if you think you are and you cant do it, just try something else to do.
