Hello Year 6. As you know, your SAT’s are not too far away now so I am interested to know how you are preparing for them. I would also be interested to know what you are doing to relax and take a break from your studies.
How do you feel about SAT’s ? Is there anything you would like advice about? Let us know!
I will also (in the next couple of days) aim to put a few helpful links on the Year 6 page. Hopefully these will support you.
Good luck with your preparations.
Mrs Tatham
Now the SATs are done I feel proud of myself and I thought they were easier than the assessments we have been doing for our SATs.
If you are scared of SATs don’t be because, if you are, you can just practise and practise and hopefuly you will get the grade you want and will be very happy
Hi Zeeshan,
This is really good advice. Thanks for being so caring and helpful.
Mrs Shepherd
if you are scared then you will scare others.
It’s fine to share your fears. When you do then others can help you to overcome and deal with your worries. At Copthorne we really want you to tell us when you are worried about something. Sometimes, if we lock our fears away they grow bigger and bigger so it’s always best to talk about how you are feeling. It can be through the blog or, even better, talking to your family or a member of staff. You know that you can call in to my office at any time!
Mrs Shepherd
I’m not scared because if I know I did well and kept my head high and did the best I can do then everyone will be happy for me. So I would advise you to keep your head high, keep on practising for the test then and, if you do pray, pray before the big test. I know I did the best I could do and keep on smiling. As Mrs Shepherd says to us all in Copthorne: she is very proud of everybody and so are the teachers as well as our parents. We Year 6 people are getting more support so keep on trying.
Whoever is worried about SATs just take Allah’s name and do your best! I hope all of you gets the marks you want so that you could make your parents happy you are their kids.
I am sure your parents are already very proud of you.
May everybody succeed and get their goals. All the best.I hope you all are not scared any more.
Plus my parents will be happy about it.
I hope I will get a 555 . Everyone out there that is worried about SATS don’t worry AND TRY the best you can do…
Don’t be scared!
We will all pray for you and others…
Don’t be scared anyone. If you try your very best then everything will go fine.
I think that the SATS are going to be really hard.I also think that the SATS are very challenging and I want to challenge myself. I am also going to try my hardest and then, when they over, I don’t need to be scared anymore.
You are extremely clever and do not need to be scared.
If we all do our best and put in all of our effot we will do fine but if we dont put work in at home we wont achieve our best .

Don’t be worried ! You will do your best and pray that you do well.
What a lovely message and such good advice!
Thank you Mrs Shepherd.
True True…
We are a team at Copthorne so we encourage each other to go the extra mile.
Exactly right , Saffah
Team work and determination
We think that the sats are going to be hardwork for everyone and we hope to see everyone (including us) with level 5’s. All we have got to say is just work hard and you will succeed .
Yours faithfully
Zaynab Sami and Anisah Islam.
I love your good advice.
SATs is a scary test which depends on many grades; it’s also like GCSE, but SATs are considerably easier. To get much better levels you must put 100% effort towards revising, practicing and revising more. One thing that will push you up to your level is, Mathletics. By going on Mathletics daily, you will learn new things everyday and it helps you to get quicker at times-tables and maths knowledge. If you’re willing to achieve your goals you must believe in yourself and say to yourself ‘you can do it’ whilst revising. If you don’t give it your all, you won’t achieve your goals and get no-where in life whilst your friends will have degrees and enjoying life… WORK HARD

When you get into the test you will realise there is nothing to be scared of. Show off what you know.
SATS are worriying and hardwork but , if you work hard at school and at home, hopefully you will get the results you need!
If i get 555 in my sats for Maths,English and reading i and my parents will be over the moon. I will get a 555 te-shirt, although i will get a lot more from home. I go on Mathletics daily and i go on english/reading websites every day. Mr Darr, Miss Zaman and Mrs Tatham are working very hard to get us where we are supposed to be. I personally believe that i can achieve my target if i want to. Last year yr 6 never got to have slots in school where they could do Mathletics.
With hard work and determination you will achieve your goals.
If I get 555 in my sats I will achive my goal. Not that many people will get a high level most will get a middle level. if I get a 555 I will get a t-shirt for all of my hard work. If i want 555 I have to always have to go onto matheletics all the time. And I will have to get a Tutor and work extra hard at home with my dad. I have to cut my play time and in some of my play time i will have to work.
We are confident even though we are a a bit scared we will try our best.We both go home and prepare for the Sats so we achieve our targets, for example we go on mathletics daily, read half an hour as well as improving our handwriting. In our opinion, we think that if we try our best and we will achieve our target. We also work hard in class and perservere in every thing we do.

You will be successful with this amount of determination.
i feel scared of the sats because they have totally changed them !
Your teachers will have prepared you for the changes. Be confident.
Please don’t worry. Only a tiny part of the SATs has been changed and, as Mrs Tatham says, your teachers have prepared you for those changes. Just remember to work hard, be confident and keep calm and all will be well.
You will be successful. Just try your best and pray!
Miss I’m scared of the SATs. I feel like im going to get 222.
You know that you are already way past a 222. It is important to believe in yourself because we believe in you.
Believe in your self… Believe in your self
You’re way past 222.
Miss I am scared of SATs. I will get low marks. I will get 3s in them all 🙁
Please read what I have written to Roshni. You can talk to Miss Bray. She is a great teacher and can discuss your worries with you. SATs are not designed to scare you and, if you can honestly say that you have tried your best, your teachers will be very proud of you.
Miss , I feel the same as Nizalia.
Roshni, please don’t feel scared about your SATs. You are a lovely, intelligent young lady and all your teachers know that you will give 100%. That is all we can ask of you. Sats are done to help teachers to plan for the next stage of your learning. They are also an opportunity to show what you know and what you need more help with. Please have the confidence to discuss your worries with a teacher you feel comfortable talking to and, well done for being brave enough to say.
No more worrying please!!
Hi Roshni,
I just want to add to the last message. Please do not worry. You are a lovely, hard working young lady and I know that you will do your very best. Just make sure you have lots of rest at night and some fun breaks between revision. Learning in short bursts of about 30 minutes is often a good idea, then have a 15 minute break. Remember that we are all here for you to talk to.
Yes miss
At home I always go on websites that have Maths and English and other subjects because I want to do it for myself and for my SAT’s. I feel scared because I might get a bad result, but i am pushing myself to it. I will try to do it.
Great. We are proud of you.
I am really scared
What are you scared about?
This week at Copthorne Primary School it is Comic Relief. We are having fun events for example, red nose wearing day , and during the week you can purchase a red nose.
