Hi everybody. I am Zaynab, a year 6 student at Copthorne.Today I am going to be talking on a Readathon reading contest set up by Miss Rosindale who is our school Literacy coordinator. The challenge is specifically held to raise money for both Roald Dahls Marvellous Children charity and other cancer charities. To win, people have to sponser you to reach and achieve the reading goal you and your teacher set for you . The person with the most sponsers wins a £25 book voucher to spend at their local book store.

Today, we have dressed up in red clothing for red nose day.(Inculding teachers) In my opnion I think the star dome was the best, it was brillant. We went through a tunnel to get inside. Even though were not doing formal lessons were doing it for a good course. We usually have parties, however this time we’ve had a comeption to guess what hair Jessie J will grow back. (We had to pay 50p to have a guess) Last year we had a party in the afternoon in each of there own classes. We personally believe that red nose day is for charity and people donate money. Oftenly, pupils buy red noses and pay a pound. Finally, we had a bake competion and our head teacher Mr Jacques is going taste them.

  18. I Khalid says:

During the last few weeks, Copthorne Primary School, have taken part in ‘The Readathon’ . We have been wearing our night clothes to school and brought a book with us to read. We have also been told to read books, or any other type of readable things eg: emails, newspaper articles and magazines. We got our parents and reletives to sponsor us for reading many amounts of books. The money we raise for this will go to the people who need this money to help them have a good life.
