Year 3, I am really sad that I wasn’t able to come with you on your visit to the Gurdwara the other day.
Mrs Tatham has told me that your behaviour was fantastic so I am very proud of you. She also told me that you found out lots.
Firstly, could you tell me about your new learning on the day. I would like to know about at least two NEW facts that you found out.
Secondly, could you tell me about what you saw. Try to describe different parts the building and tell me about what you did in each place. Remember, I wasn’t there so I will need you to to put a lot of detail in so I can get a good picture in my mind.
Finally, what do you think I would have most enjoyed about the visit if I could have gone.

Well done year 3. You are doing really well in your topic work. Well done and fantastic work.
The Mandir inside is beautiful and they have 7 different gods and some colorful flowers. The gods are wearing
golden jewels and dazzling, shiny crowns. When Hindus go to the Mandir they share fruit out and take it home.

Inside the Mandir, Hindus pray like Muslims to their god. The Hindus wear white clothes that look like Ihram that Muslims wear when they go Hajj.The white clothes are as white as an icycle and their floor is shiny as a mirror, and silver. by Umar

Adam,today we will tell you about Hindu place of worship called a Mandir.There is a place inside the Mandir that has lots of candles that atre as red as fire. There are small gods wearing red,orange and yellow representing the fire.There is a blue,metal cage around the area, to keep everybody safe.There is also a big bronze bell to invite people to join the prayers.
Hello everybody, I am going to tell you about the gurdwara (the sihks place of worship).As soon as you enter the gurdwara it is considered polite to take off your shoes before you even think about stepping foot into the grand hall where all prayers are said. Did you know that outside the gurdwara, there is a rather tall pole with a flag right at the top? It is a symbol meaning that anyone is welcome to visit.
I found out that in the gurdwara the sikhs put the book on the bed and keep the room nice and tidy. Also, I found out that they put their huge holy book on a beautiful table at the front. I think your favourite thing in the gurdwara would be looking at the holy book. The prayer hall was neat and all put into place . There were all different colours of flowers. We all collaborated to be polite and respectful. The sikhs are very kind because they let us have juice and biscuits. Next time you come please.
Mrs Shah, when I went to the gudwara I learnt a lot. I know what the 2 swords mean. They mean everyone is welcome and it .
In the Gudwara we had a lovely time. We saw the special instruments; one of them was called the SODO. We also saw the special room bed where there was a sikhs holy book. And we got to eat biscuits and have drinks. In the music room , we got to look,talk investigate the holy brush which is made of wood and hair at the bottom. It was a very clean place. We had to take our shoes off and also had to cover our head with either a bandana or scarf . Mre Shah , I think you will enjoy the music room .
First we went upstairs to the room and we saw the masive instrumant.Then we saw the bedroom for the holy book but it was very clean. Next we went to the music room and in the music room we saw a lots of special objects.
Mrs Shah, our new learning was from the gudwara. When we went it was huge and spectcular, we loved it. If you go straight in , no turning, you will see the room where they eat and we went there lastl. .The guide give us juice and a bourben biscuit and we ate all of it. Our guide was a man who was so lovely and kind and he visits the gurdwara lots. Their flag has two swords and it means that any one can come and is welcome. There was a picture of a man with a gun and the man said that he was in a war fighting for Sikhs to be free. If you went there you would have loved the juice and biscuit and did you know that all there food is vegetarian.

The best room that I like was the music room. You get an instrument and you have to collaborate in your group.
You have to talk about the musical instrument together then the man that takes you everywhere listens to you talk about your musical instrimant. I didn’t know that the god said that every sikh should leave their hair long.
Hello MRS SHAH. Our trip to the good gurdwara was good. Our guide made us take our shoes off then we went up stairs. It was the first prayer hall. People who went in gave money for the bills . The guide then took us to the music room and we picked up things and tried to work out what they were.

Mrs Shah, in the prayer hall it had a lot of space and I saw the Guru Granth Sahib. I was the only person who could hold this instrument , it was like a guitar but you could only play slow and sensitive music on it. In the wash room the taps were automatic.

It’s ok Mrs Shah. I learnt lots of new things about sikhs. We worked in our maths groups collaborate and look at different objects from the gurdwara.
I found out that the sikhs never cut their hair and the swords mean everyone is welcome. My favourite part was when we were in the guru’s room and it was so tidy.
The gurdwara looked nice and inside it looked also nice .I think you would like the prayer hall because there’s a tap to wash your hands. Also you can see the bed and the guru granth sahib resting on the bed.

I remember when my class went and we ate juice and biscuitts. There were so many paintings that I didn’t really get to see the holy book. 🙁

Did you know that guru means teacher. Also we saw 2 swords and they were used to remember the wars.We didnt need to get a hat to wear and show respect because the man gave us some.
They are not hats Atef they are bandanas.
To Mrs Shah. When I went to the Gurdwara I learnt that that the swords were real and there are to remember having a war.

the Gurdwara.
