Today our school,(Copthorne Primary School) have helped alot to raise money for ‘Comic Relief’. We have donated: 50p to guess the hair-style that the singer Jessie-J will grow her hair back to, we have gave £1 to buy red-noses which have been worn today, we have dressed in our finest red outfit and gave £1 to the charity, we have made some delicious treats for ‘ The Comic Relief Bake Off’ and finally we have all taken part in ‘ The Readathon’ all the sponsor money we raise will be given to two important charities. All the way through these last few day Copthorne Primary School have taken part in many activities and worked extremely hard to help raise money for a number of charities. The only thing that has been in our minds the most, is what this money could do for someone else

  15. Mrs Shepherd says:

    Dear All,

Thanks for all your great comments and descriptions of what happened at Copthorne for Red Nose Day. Thank you to everyone for making the day such a good one. The bake-off was very hard to judge as you all did such a brilliant job. I am really looking forward to finding out how much money we raised for charity. Perhaps next year I could ask people to sponsor me to not do any Irish dancing!!

Today, in Copthorne Primary School we wore red clothes and we contributed £1 which will go to 2 charities. Some of us paid 50p to guess which haircut Jessie J will grow back, as well as the bakeoff which is currently taking place in the canteen. Some teachers are making cakes like Mrs Teizini and other teachers (staff of school). Year 3 and year 6 were the only classes to use the blog today , and to reply and text to others . It is like the moodle but a bit more formal.

On Friday( Red Nose Day) we did a fun things at the same time as wearing our red noses of course. The thing that was fun was the Stardome where we learnt about space and stars in the hall. All our school had to wear something red so we could celebrate Red Nose Day and we had fun wearing our red noses with all their 3 different designs. ,Their names were T-spex,Dinomite and Triceratops. There was a ‘bake off’ that took place in the hall and the cakes were presented neatly so Mr Jacques could judge all the contestants. The winner of the Bake Off will recieve a big prize. Another event that we did was to guess how Jessie J will grow her hair. It will cost 50p per guess, and whoever wins will get a huge prize.

  18. S Zubair says:

Today has been a great day in Copthorne Primary School, because we have been raising money in different, fun ways for Comic Relief. One of the activities was to guess what Jessie J’s hairstlye will be when she grows it back because she was going to do a great contribution of shaving her hair off. We all gave a contribution of £1 and have been buying red noses for £1. One of the other activities was Copthorne’s Bake Off, where all pupils and staff who want to participate get to bake food for e.g. cakes, buns, samosas and Quiche. We all came in red clothes. All the money that has been raised will be split and half will go to Comic Relief and the other half will go to an important cause.

As you know, it is a Comic Relief fundraising week in Copthorne Primary School . We are holding various events to raise money for two imporant charities. One event is to guess how Jessie J will grow her hair back. One guess is for 50p. The winner gets a fantastic prize (the first winner gets a £25 voucher , the second winner gets £15 voucher and the third winner gets £5 voucher). Another event we are holding is dress in red on Friday 15th March , which is today. In my personal opinion, today has been a fabulous day. School are selling red noses for £1 which everybody are able to purchase. Last year we raised more than £100. I am going to wear a red dress! In addition, we are going to have a bake off when we will make cakes and see who made the best cake for Mr Jacques and Mrs Shepherd. They are two fantastic judges. Everyone will be taking part in different competitions.

Today is Rumana’s Birthday and is a very special day for her especially. As you might know, Copthorne Primary School have had a Red Nose Day today. There have been all sorts of events such as picking Jessie J’s new hairstyle and the Copthorne Bake Off. Today many people have worn red peices of clothing. The entry fee for the Bake Off is £1.00. The cost for The Jessie J Hairstyle guess is 50p. The person who guesses her hair right will be announced today , Friday 15th March 2013. As a result of our donations , the money will go to 2 very important charities.

  24. A Kauser says:

We personally believe that Comic Relief is a brilliant charity which gives help to the many people who need it most. This week, we worked hard to raise as much money as we could to support those people in need. Often, (like previous years) we sold red noses from Monday at the price of £1 each. Unlike last year, they proceeded to sell like chocolate-cakes and helped us make lots of money. Many thanks to the students (and teachers) who helped out! Further on in the week, we announced ‘The Great Copthorne Bake Off’ which was a chance for children to show their ability through baking. From now, the winner has still yet to be announced, but well done to all those who chose to participate! Today, (Friday 15th) children brought in £1 for non-uniform which required them to wear red. This year, we introduced a new activity. This was ‘Guess Jessie J’s Hairstyle’ as the singer is going to shave her hair for Comic Relief, and when she does, she’ll wear a certain wig. Children were encouraged to guess which wig she’d wear. If we’ve raised this much this year, I wonder how much we’ll raise next year! (Though we – Year 6 – won’t be here by then) However, as children ourselves, we agree that if a larger range of activities were available, more money could’ve been raised. In future, we wish that children would be able to choose activities, they know what they want, after all! In summary, this week has been a great success and we hope we’ve raised enough to support the charity! As it would be a big achievment to raise more than last year.

Thanks for reading! Aamna R & Ayesha K, 6 Sycamore.

Today, we have dressed up in red clothes for a voluntary contribution of £1 . We also went to a stardome in the hall. We lerned about stars in the sky and how they were formed and the myth behind the stars. If we raise enough money we will have more to split between the 2 charities.

On friday, if you bring in £1.00, you will be able to wear something red with non-uniform.Jessie J is going to cut her hair for comic relief. If you bring 50p,you can have a guess of what hair style she is going to do. The winner is going to receive a prize in the hall on Friday. We are also going to have a fantastic Bake Off. The participation will free and you will only have to make a pastry ect. for Mr Jaques to taste. It should be made by the 15th.

On Friday 15th of March at Copthorne Primary School we are having a Red Nose Day however, we are also going to have red day when we have to wear something red on Friday. in addition, we have to bring a pound for the non-uniform as well. On the same day we have an activity that has got to do with the singer Jessie J. We have to guess her hair style and bring 50p for it. The main reason for this is that the money that we give for each activity and the non-uniform is going to the charity. We are also going to do a ‘Bake Off’ where and you can make what ever you want for example: cakes. pasteries e.c.t. Mr Jacques will be tasting and judging.

    • Admin says:

It would be wrong to force Mr Jacques to taste all that delicious cooking on his own. I might suggest that I help him.

I hope to enjoy this years Comic Relief in Copthorne Primary School in 6 Chestnut. I love to to raise money for charity. Many people believe that charities are not that important but Copthorne Primary School disagree! There is nothing more valuable than charity work.

    • Admin says:

I agree that charities are extremely important. They do fantastic work and they help so many people.

      • N Latif says:

Yes I agree with Zain and Mrs T. Charities are extremley important. If you don’t want to help the charities, that means you don’t like the people who are homeless and the people who don’t food or have to drink dirty water.
